Embroidered cloth daily calendar depicts month, day, season, and year with interchangeable cloth pieces. Special areas on the planner allow children to highlight today’s weather, activity and their mood. The 67 individual pieces are attached to the Daily Planner with Velcro and are stored in pockets on the planner.

The pieces all Velcro on to the Daily Planner. Because the pieces are cloth, they are easy to grasp to put on and take off.
Children use eye-hand coordination along with grasp and appropriate timed release to position each piece onto the Daily Planner.
The pieces of Velcro on the Daily Planner are large enough so children do not have to be extremely precise in their placement.
Children who have involuntary movements will benefit from using Velcro pieces. They will not fall off easily if inadvertently knocked.
This Daily Planner is portable. It can be hung on a wall, at whatever height is optimal for a child, or it can be taken down and used on a play easel, flat on a table, wheelchair tray or floor.
Children who have trouble with the movements necessary to write (graphomotor) may find having the full words printed helpful in learning the concept without being frustrated by the inability to form the letters and words themselves.
The “feelings” pieces can help a child express his mood at that moment. This can give caregivers insight into how the child is feeling.
Children can use this daily planner as a springboard for verbal conversations and stories. For instance, “December is in winter. It snows in December. I can’t wait to make a snowman.”
The “activity” pieces can help children transition during the day. For instance, if a party is later in the day, place the “party” piece on the board and verbally remind the child about the party as you point to the “party” piece.
The “feelings” pieces can help children talk about feelings in a tangible way. Have children pick up a feeling piece and then make their own facial expression for that mood. Do this in front of a mirror so the child can see how his facial expression changes with each mood.
Each section on the Daily Planner is framed with an embroidered box. This can help children focus on one section at a time.
